The ghost of a dog-faced boy has been seen near parked cars along this street several times in the last thirty years. The boy was a deformed child who had supported himself by selling pencils and stealing from cars. History says he was murdered here in 1926 after he was caught stealing from someone’s vehicle. Reported sightings have occured on Pioneer Street and in the parking lot of Lithia Park, where the Oregon Shakespearean Festival Theater now stands.

U.S. Highway 40, Cambridge, Ohio
This highway is said to be haunted by two headless ghosts. One is a construction worker who was working to build the highway. He was robbed and murdered by a fellow laborer, and his decapitated body was buried under the road. His ghost is still seen by motorists traveling the highway on a stretch of the road called Deep Cut, which lies between Cambridge and Old Washington.
The other spirit is a woman who lived in a cabin near the old trail in the late 1890s. She was beheaded by her husband during a violent argument. Soon after, her headless apparition was seen riding sidesaddle on a white horse. She has come to be known as Lady Bend. Lady Bend is seen on the highway at Lady Bend Hill on the third bend from the top.
